BGBB celebrates its 7th anniversary by sponsoring mental health therapy sessions

In honor of its 7th anniversary and Mental Illness Awareness Week, BGBB sponsored 7 free mental health therapy sessions for 7 pregnant and postpartum persons.

Mental health conditions are one of the leading causes of maternal and infant mortality. Maternal mental health conditions-- such as anxiety, perinatal and postpartum depression and birth-related PTSD-- are the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth, affecting 1 in 5 women.

Increasing access to beautiful and safe spaces for healing is integral to BGBB’s mission.

The Black Girls Break Bread team was thrilled to curate a magical sound bath event to prioritize mental health, mindfulness and meditation for such deserving women in an effort to introduce and expand mindfulness and meditative modalities.

In honor of its 6th anniversary, Black Girls Break Bread wants to give back to its community by launching another Mental Health Awareness campaign.
