The Goodman Theatre supported BGBB through the production, The Nacirema Society.

Proceeds from specialty drinks sold at the play benefit Black Girls Bread. The Nacirema Society, ran from September 16 through October 15 is described as a “laugh-out-loud” (Broadway World) “hilarious comedy” (Arts ATL) from nationally renowned playwright, poet and NY Times best-selling author Pearl Cleage.

BGBB was proud to collaborate on the July 15 Paint the Hood Orange initiative. This block party held in North Lawndale advocates for an end to gun violence while providing the community with valuable resources

BGBB is thrilled to announce its second annual 12 Days of Giving initiative to provide Chicago communities with essential goods from December 13^th through the 24^th.

This year’s neighborhoods include:

• Austin
• Englewood
• Garfield Park
• North Lawndale
• Roseland
• South Shore

From December 13-24, 2020, BGBB celebrated 12 Days of Giving by distributing fresh produce grocery bags, catered meals and essential items throughout the community.

BGBB hosted a dinner for Chicago colleges, universities, high schools and middle schools to honor and celebrate inspiring Black women.
